Michael Shepard Allegedly Sells Drugs At Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings

Pretty sure that's not part of the 12-step program.

Police say 64-year-old Michael Shepard, the owner of a community center that formerly hosted Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, was selling oxycodone before, after and in between meetings, KOMO News reported.

"It's like, show-up early, stay late and get your drugs and in-between," Seattle Police Sgt. Sean Whitcomb told the network. "If you want to learn a little more about AA, we can talk about that too."

Law enforcement received a report of the drug dealing in November 2012, according to the Associated Press. In January and February, Shepard allegedly sold oxycodone on to a police informant on five occasions. Undercover officers say they witnessed the transactions.

Police say Shepard talked about drug deals during the meetings, the Seattle Times reported. He would reportedly only sell to members of the center in an attempt to avoid detection by law enforcement. The center, which opened in 2012, had over 2,000 members.

If convicted, Shepard could get up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
